Home Construction Reservations at Home and Building Materials Expo 2021 Surge by 22% to Over 3.4 Billion Baht
The Home Builder Association has announced that the reservations for home construction at the "Home and Building Materials Expo 2021" exceeded 3.4 billion baht, marking a 22% increase. Homes priced at 3 million baht topped the reservation charts. “Worawut Kanjanakul” is confident that the home construction market will support the economy.

Mr. Worawut Kanjanakul, President of the Home Builder Association (HBA), revealed that the reservations for home construction at the "Home and Building Materials Expo 2021", held from November 24 to 28, 2021, attracted 5,000 visitors over the five days, resulting in total reservations exceeding 3.4 billion baht, which is a 22% increase compared to last year, meeting the set target. The breakdown of home construction reservations by price range is as follows:
- First place: Homes priced between 5 - 10 million baht, accounting for 30.70%
- Second place: Homes priced at 20 million baht and above, accounting for 29.71%
- Third place: Homes priced between 2.5 - 5 million baht, accounting for 20.70%
- Fourth place: Homes priced between 10 - 20 million baht, accounting for 18.19%
- Fifth place: Homes priced at 2.5 million baht or less, accounting for 0.70%

The number of homes reserved during the event is categorized into five rankings:
- First place: Homes priced between 2.5 - 5 million baht, accounting for 44.89%
- Second place: Homes priced between 5 - 10 million baht, accounting for 34.67%
- Third place: Homes priced between 10 - 20 million baht, accounting for 11.11%
- Fourth place: Homes priced at 20 million baht, accounting for 6.67%
- Fifth place: Homes priced at 2.5 million baht or less, accounting for 2.67%

The number of visitors and home construction reservations over the five days reflects that consumers still wish to build homes and prefer to experience the actual atmosphere of the offline exhibition, which took place from November 24 to 28, 2021. This is why the association has adjusted the event format to include an online component from November 18 to 28, 2021, allowing consumers to participate through various channels. This also serves as a marketing promotion for the association's members as the year 2021 comes to a close.
Mr. Worawut commented, “I believe the market is gradually recovering and will continue to do so until early next year, as long as the number of COVID-19 cases does not rise to ten thousand again or new negative factors do not emerge. This will help the economy return to its previous state quickly. The home construction market is one of the businesses that hopes to stimulate the country's economy. The sales at the Home and Building Materials Expo 2021 over the five days totaled over 3.4 billion baht, growing by 22% compared to the same period last year, and we expect to see follow-up sales after the event. The main reason may be that many businesses are starting to resume operations. Additionally, next year, the price of materials is expected to rise, which will encourage consumers to make purchasing decisions more quickly. Furthermore, this time we extended the event to five days from the previous four, giving consumers more time to decide.”
Additionally, Mr. Worawut shared insights from a survey regarding the reasons consumers attended the event, which can be categorized into four main purposes:
- First place: Looking for a house design that suits their preferences, accounting for 46.88%
- Second place: Seeking a home construction company, accounting for 28.05%
- Third place: Exploring special offers at the event, accounting for 21.81%
- Fourth place: Other reasons, accounting for 3.26%
